Chitwan, Dec 23: Consul General of India, B.C. Pradhan on Saturday said Nepal’s political change would not affect India’s support for the development of the country.
Saying development takes place through a change, the Birgunj-based Indian Consul General said India was with Nepal in its every development activity.
Pradhan was addressing an interaction organised by the Chitwan district coordination committee.
Saying he would do every bit to further strengthen relations between India and Nepal during his tenure, he stressed the need for improving recently ‘strained relations’ between the two countries.
Likewise, the recently elected State Assembly member Bijaya Subedi underscored the need for India to prioritise development activities in Chitwan, while admitting to the district lagging behind in development for failure to device systematised plans.
Acting Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma, mayor of Ratnanagar Municipality Narayan Ban, mayor of Rapti Municipality Prabha Baral, President of the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rajan Gautam, Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Transportation Entrepreneurs Associations Ram Prasad Subedi and senior Vice Chairman of the Chitwan Industry Association Bhesh Raj Duwadi also spoke at the event.
