Kathmandu, Dec 28: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested two senior civil servants on the charge of forging official documents.
Under Secretary Sundar Bhattarai and Section Officer Yam Lal Dhakal, based at the Transport Management Office in Sukedhara, were arrested from their work station on Thursday on the charge of issuing a Nepali driving license after forging documents to produce a fake Saudi Arabian driving license.
Also on December 24, two junior staff of the same office had been arrested on the charge of demanding a bribe of Rs 32,000 from a service recipient. Nayab Subba Yadav Poudel and Kharidar Suman Pokharel were arrested for seeking the amount in bribe money through Ashok Karki, a paralegal at the Office.
Also on Thursday, Nayab Subba Raju Gautam of the Land Reforms Office in Bhaktapur was arrested by a CIAA team for taking a bribe of Rs. 6,000 from a service recipient at the Office.
