Kathmandu, Dec 31: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has said the door to form the National Assembly has been opened after the President authenticated ordinance in this regard.
At an interaction programme in the capital city on Sunday, Yadav said the results of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies would be kept secret until the appointment of the State Chiefs.
He added that the results of the proportional representation system would be given a final touch in one or two days.
The CEC said that a notice was published for the registration of the political parties for the elections to the National Assembly as per Article 271 of the Constitution of Nepal.
On the occasion, Yadav said the Election Commission had already urged the government to announce the date of elections to the National Assembly and appoint the State Chiefs.
