Kathmandu, Jan 2: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (MC) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ discussed the latest political situation including the election of the National Assembly today.
During the meeting held at the PM’s Baluwatar residence, Chairman Dahal drew the attention of the prime minister to immediately announcing the date for NA election and appoint Chief of the Provinces only on the basis of political consensus.
Stating that the delay by the government and the Election Commission had affected the formation of the new government, he urged PM Deuba to hold the NA election as soon as possible, according to Chairman Dahal’s press aide Manohari Timalsena.
In response, PM Deuba said he was consulting with the EC to hold the NA elections soon and that he would take steps based on a political consensus.
The Prime Minister’s Secretariat has also confirmed the meeting between the Prime Minister and the Former Prime Minister where the latest political situation, NA election and appointment of Pradhes Pramukh were discussed.
